William C. Porter, Jr., King William County Interim Administrator, extended the Countywide Open Air Burn Ban originally declared on July 13, 2010. This extension, effective Wednesday, September 8, 2010, will run for 60 days or until there has been a significant amount of rainfall. Trenton L. Funkhouser, King William County Administrator, has ended the Countywide Open Air Burn Ban effective May 16, 2011. Please observe applicable state regulations and suggestions and consult with Town of West Point officials regarding any fire and burning regulations applicable within the Town's corporate limits.
