March
15th- 10th Annual Easter Egg Hunt/Children's Festival -
at Hamilton-Holmes M.S. from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Event is FREE for children ages 2-8. Event will feature candy hunts, inflatables, rides, horse & wagon rides, community booths, food vendors, a visit from the World Famous Easter Bunny and lots more. April
8th - King William Ruritan Club Fish Fry - 3 - 7pm at Dick Campbell’s Cottage. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres served from 3 - 5pm and meal with fish and all the fixins served from 5-6pm. Complimentary beverages included.  Tickets are $20 each and must be purchased in advance.  Contact any Ruritan member for tickets or call Gene Campbell at 769-2063 after 6pm.

19th - Spring Fest - this family oriented event will take place on Saturday, April 19, 2008, from 5-9 p.m. at King William Court House.  The event will also feature live music by, children’s activities, antique & hot rod cars, great food and, of course, fireworks!  Additionally, the King William Historical Museum will be open for tours and the LifeEvac III helicopter will fly-in (schedule permitting). 26th - 16th Annual Catfish Tournament, sponsored by Walkerton Vol. Community Fire Association. 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Walkerton Boat Ramp on the Mattaponi River (rain or shine). $25 per person entry fee. Cash prizes will be awarded in adult and children's categories. A portion of the proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society. 18th - Walkerton Vol. Community Fire Association's BBQ Dinner from 4-7 p.m. For more information, call Ronnie Barnett at (804) 769-2009.

23rd - 25th - Upper Mattaponi Indian Tribe 19th Annual Pow Wow - Native American dancing, drumming, story telling, arts & crafts and children's activities. Native American food will be available for purchase. Friday, May 25 is children's day.  Activities will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Grand Entry of Tribal Chiefs and Dancers will be at noon on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday. Directions: The Upper Mattaponi Tribal Grounds are located on Rt. 30 approximately 1 mile southeast of Central Garage. (804) 769-3854

June
21st - Mattaponi Indian Tribe Pow Wow
- Native American food, dancing & drumming. Runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with Grand Entry at noon. Admission is $5, children 6 and under are free. Rain date: June 20 from 1-6 p.m. Bring a chair. Directions: From West Point, turn left onto Rt. 30 & travel 12 miles (Following Mattaponi/Pamunkey Trail highway signs) and turn right on Rt. 626. Follow signs onto the Reservation. From Central Garage, go east on Rt. 30 to Rt. 626 and turn left . Follow signs onto the Reservation. (804) 769-8783

21st - Mangohick Vol. Fire Department presents the second annual BBQ & Brew from 1-7 p.m. at the firehouse, 3943 King William Road. Event will feature live music by the Menzies, BBQ & adult beverages. Tickets are $20. For more information or tickets, call 994-9800 or visit www.mvfdco2.com.

20th – Aug. 10th – Cruise Ins – Cruise-into King William High School every Friday night June 20 - Aug. 10, 2007, from 6 - 8:30 p.m. (weather permitting). August
2nd - Walkerton Day - A fun-filled afternoon complete with carnival rides, great food, games, a parade and crowning of the Walkerton Fire Department Queen. Festivities begin at noon and parade begins at 5:30. Crowning of the Queen will take place after the parade behind the Post Office. For more information, call John Ransone at (804) 769-4017.
