  • A citizen of the United States
  • 18 years of age by the next general election
  • If convicted of a felony, your right to vote must have been restored
  • Not currently declared mentally incompetent by a court of law

Voter, are you photo ID ready?

  • Voters must present one of the following acceptable forms of identification when voting:
  • Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)-issued photo identification cards
  • Other government-issued photo identification card
  • Valid college or university student photo identification card (issuer must be an institution of higher education located in Virginia)
  • Valid Employee photo identification card
  • Valid United States passport
  • Valid Virginia Driver’s License
